Few words about the exhibition

„… Nowadays, we are busy, tired and often deprived of strength. That is why we do not notice changes that take place in the surrounding nature. It passes day by day, month after month, and so forth the following years. And then we suddenly realize the passage of time. We could forget about nature, but she does not forget about us. We notice the changes in our body, our soul, the change in our perception of the reality that surrounds us. Interpersonal relationships look similar. In the rush in which we lived, interest in another person has decreased, more and more people begin to feel loneliness. That’s why I decided to capture the inhabitants of Pomerania in my paintings. In this way I wanted to symbolically „break” the prevailing habits of isolation, distance to ourselves and our neighbors … „

„… Nature sets us the rhythm we live in. In my paintings, it is an integral part of ourselves. We can not live next to her, she is in us. If we listen to her voice, we submit to the cycle of the seasons, then we can achieve inner balance. Pomorzanki, the protagonists of my paintings allow me to stop for a moment to soak up and try to perceive each of the passing months in turn. Each of my models is walking my own way. He has other problems to overwork and is looking for his own solutions … „

▌Małgorzata Limon in the years 2006-2012 studied at the Department of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk with prof. Maciej Świeszewski, with an annex with digital graphics from prof. Cezary Paszkowski. Scholarship holder of the Erasmus Program, she had the opportunity to study at the Accademia degli Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, in the studio of prof. Stefano Pizzi. In 2010-13, she graduated from two beauty and image schools at Beauty Art and Magnus Film, receiving the Diploma of the Theater and Film Character Dealer. Professionally, he works at the Gdańsk Branch of Polish Television. He has been a member of the Polish Artists’ Union since 2015. He has 8 individual exhibitions in Poland and Germany, as well as numerous presentations at group exhibitions, including in Sardinia, Florence, Cervia, Milan (Italy), Ayadin (Turkey).

Islet works under a pseudonym since 2008. Since she remembers, she composes and writes texts. He loves old-fashioned sounds, acoustic sounds and modern electronic beats. She played hundreds of atmospheric, intimate concerts, which were almost always appreciated by the public. Particularly close to her Tri-City – it was in Gdansk that she set her first musical steps as Islet. In August 2015, her debut album was released. „Stop”.
